AN IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT EMAIL AND WHAT TO DO IF YOU'VE TRIED TO CONTACT ME BUT HAVEN'T HEARD BACK. I do my best to ALWAYS contact people within a 24-hour timeframe. Because of time differences (note I am in Australia) I need this much time to get back to you. However, if you still haven't received a reply after 24 hours have passed, make sure you've done EVERYTHING you possibly can before you start to panic. Worst case scenario: you'll complain to PayPal about it because you believe you're getting ripped off, I'll get into trouble through no fault of my own, and we'll BOTH end up getting pissed off, no doubt about it. All because of a stupid clerical error. Most of my customers are great when it comes to stuff like this, but occasionally people can get a little lazy or too impatient and aren't as thorough as they should be at their end. So, here's a little checklist of things that I STRONGLY suggest you do before you hit that panic button ~ 1. The very first thing you should do is check your spam or junk mail inbox to see if it's ended up in there. Time and time again, people write to me demanding to know why they haven't received a reply from me, only to eventually find it in their spam. 2. Make sure the address that you've given PayPal (which is the one that I'm using to try to reach you with) is a LEGITIMATE email address. You can rest assured, I NEVER pass on personal details about my customers to ANYONE. I guard other people's privacy like I do my own, which is to a high degree. If you've used a bogus address, I have no way of getting what you've purchased to you at all. 3. A word about IP blockers. Very, very rarely, email doesn't get through because of IP blocking. What is that, you ask? In a nutshell, it means that your email (or mine) can not get through to another server because your ISP address has been banned due to abuse (i.e. a spammer, hacker or other nasty). Now this one sucks big time, because you don't even have to be a spammer to get banned like that. Hundreds of other innocent customers who have purchased server space for their website, email etc. from the same internet service provider all end up getting banned as well through no fault of their own all because of one bad apple. And all because you happen to be with the same IP company. It's VERY frustrating if you become a victim of this. The only way you can get yourself off the blocked list is to wait for your ISP to ban the abuser, and then apply to be taken off the list. This can take several days, and in the meantime your email still isn't getting through to where it's supposed to go. Too bad if it's urgent... 4. So what can you do at your end if you've checked your spam and my message isn't there, you've sent mail from a legitimate address, or you suspect IP blocking could be happening? Try contacting me from an alternate address, or try contacting me at MY alternate address, which is: adadornments@hotmail.com - or do BOTH, to make sure. It always pays to be thorough in times like these - trust me. 5. Finally, the unthinkable horror could have happened - I could have computer problems... It happened, quite recently as a matter of fact. I turned my computer on early in July and boom, nothing. Windows wouldn't even load up for me. So, I had to take it in to be repaired, and I was without internet access for 10 whole days. Right when I had lots of orders to fill and email to answer. Murphy's law, huh? So, if you don't hear from me at all after several days, this is what has most likely happened. Please, try to be patient, but by all means do try my hotmail address above to find out what's happening, because at least I can access that from a public computer or internet cafe. You can be guaranteed I'll do my utmost to at least try to keep up when, and if I can under those extreme circumstances. I'm sure you'll agree that it's all I can possibly do... |
